Shiv Sena’s Magathane MLA Prakash Surve, in his election affidavit filed on Tuesday, has shown a three-fold rise in his assets in the past five years.

According to the affidavit, Surve’s total assets (movable and immovable) have gone up to ₹33.19 crore from ₹12.12 crore in 2014. He has 650 grams of gold estimated to be worth ₹21.5 lakh, which he owns with his dependent wife. He has two Toyota Innova cars registered under his name, which are worth ₹42 lakh. There is an Activa scooter registered under the name of his wife. His affidavit in 2014 did not mention any vehicle.
The sitting MLA has paid over ₹90.94 lakh as income tax from 2014-15 to 2018-19 and his dependent wife paid ₹14.33 lakh tax for the said period.
There are 14 agricultural lands registered under his and his dependent wife’s name in Kumbharte, Mangaon, and their value is ₹90 lakh. He owns five flats in Borivli, which are priced at ₹30.66 crore. Like in 2014, he has declared zero liabilities. He has 15 investment policies.
There is one pending criminal case against the MLA at Dahisar police station.
