Trombay man killed in hit-and-run at Vashi bridge
The car that rammed into the victim’s bike had been speeding, said police
A 43-year-old man from Cheeta Camp in Trombay died in a hit- and-run accident at Vashi creek bridge, when a speeding car rammed into his bike on Sunday night.

The man, Quadre Kurdumba, was riding pillion with his friend. The two were travelling from Trombay to Vashi, said police.
“As they were crossing Vashi bridge around 9 pm, a speeding car heading towards Vashi rammed into them from behind, crushing Kurdumba,” said a police officer from Vashi police station.
The car driver fled after the accident. Police are examining CCTV camera footage near the Vashi toll naka to identify him.
“We got some details about the driver and hope to arrest him soon. We have also detained the biker and will interrogate him. We heard that he had also been speeding at the time of the accident,” the officer said.
