Women’s Day tweet: NCP leader calls Ram Gopal Varma a pervert, he retaliates with joker remark

Awhad asked the Bollywood filmmaker to apologize for his comments on women and threatened that NCP activists would not mind taking the law in their hands to handle the matter.

After posting a controversial tweet on International Women’s Day, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma got involved in a war of words on the social networking website Twitter with NCP leader Jitendra Awhad.

Awhad asked the Bollywood filmmaker to apologize for his comments on women and threatened that NCP activists would not mind taking the law in their hands to handle the matter. In reply, Varma asked him to apologize or face a formal complaint. He also termed the NCP legislator a joker and a disgrace for the country while Awhad called him a pervert.

The spat started with Varma’s controversial post which says, “I wish all the women in the world will give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives.” The post draws ire from people including a formal complaint being filed against the director in Goa.

But Awhad took a different route and lashed out at Varma for the objectionable post. “You have a mother, you pervert *******,” Awhad tweeted. In another post he then asked him to apologize or face the consequences. “Apologize or face action. We don’t mind taking law in hand,” he tweeted.

In another tweet, he said, “If you don’t apologize for threatening to take law in to your hands, will formally register complaint, so let me know. Please note.” To which Awhad’s response was, please go ahead and do it.

Meanwhile, Awhad also asked for his address and Varma responded with the address of his office situated at Veeradesai Road in Mumbai. Responding to a tweet in which Awhad has said that right or wrong I expressed what I feel, Varma wrote, “And this joker has a problem with what others express.”
