She has suffered multiple injuries on her left arm and above her left eye. Rodrigues was walking towards her home in Dadar with Varsha, whom she has known for a year, when the bomb exploded.

“I couldn’t sleep on Wednesday night thinking of her. When I last I saw her amidst the thick smoke, her hand seemed badly injured,” said Rodrigues, who recalls falling down and opening her eyes to complete darkness. “I ran towards a shop nearby and that’s when I saw Varsha on the floor. I asked people around me to help her but they all looked too shocked and scared, like I was.”

Rodrigues said she called her husband from the shop, and he took her to the hospital. “I don’t have any idea where she is,” she said. Although a friend has told her that Varsha has probably been admitted to KEM hospital, Rodrigues said she would feel better only once she actually sees Varsha.
