Five arrested for gang rape of college girl

According to the police, the girl, who is a college student, was with her boyfriend, Sagar Bhagat, 23, at the time of the incident. “They had gone to the Water Tank area on Bhagat’s bike. They were chatting when six men came there and threatened Bhagat and asked him to leave,” said Rajendra Pawar, police inspector.

“Bhagat left the spot leaving the girl behind, following which she was gang-raped,” Pawar said. The police said they included Bhagat’s name as an accused because he did not make any effort to save the girl from the goons and did not inform the residents or the police.
