I don’t wear high heels now so that I can run’

I have started taking a lot of precautions and have also instructed my eight-year-old daughter to be safe. Earlier, I would wear high heels and travel, but nowadays, I don’t wear them if I am taking the public transport, says Sonu Gajria.

I have started taking a lot of precautions and have also instructed my eight-year-old daughter to be safe. Earlier, I would wear high heels and travel, but nowadays, I don’t wear them if I am taking the public transport.

The reason for this is that I think it is unsafe as I won’t be able to escape in them in case of any trouble. I now only wear shoes that are comfortable and convenient.

I also constantly keep in touch with my family every time I am outside, and while travelling in an auto or taxi, I make sure that I am speaking to a family member. This makes me feel safe.

If my friends and I are travelling in the night, we try to make sure that we drive our cars alongside.

When travelling by train, I prefer to travel by the second class compartment in the night because there are more women there.

I am teaching my eight-year-old daughter to also start taking precautions. I have asked her never to enter the elevator if there is a stranger using it. I also discourage her from speaking to strangers.
