On Sunday, the minimum temperature at Santacruz was 4.1 degrees below normal at 12.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature at Colaba was 17 degree Celsius which was 1.9 degrees below normal.

According to the Met department, although a western disturbance (an extra-tropical storm that brings sudden rain and snow in northern India) has just passed Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), cold winds will keep the temperature low.

On Sunday, the weather bureau forecast that minimum temperature on Monday will be 15 degree Celsius and that the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees Celsius

“The temperature is not expected to dip more in the coming days but the cold breezy conditions experienced over the weekend will prevail in the coming week,” said S Sudevan, director, India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“A western disturbance that is approaching J&K might bring in another cold spell in the city.”

Meanwhile, temperatures in other cities across the state were low as well. Malegaon was coldest at 8.8 degrees Celsius followed by Nasik which was 8 degree Celsius and Pune which stood 10.7 degrees Celsius.
