Production house seeks stay on serial

Rajita Sharma of MLP said she provided the storyline and script for 260 episodes, which started airing on Colors channel from Monday. Her plea said the producer, Creative Eye, terminated three agreements on December 21 and refused to give her due credit beyond certain initial episodes.

“We are seeking a stay to the airing pending the arbitration proceedings and want the producer to give us credit as long as the serial is on air,” said advocate Jamshed Misty, appearing for MLP.

MLP had entered into an agreement with Creative Eye for the use of the script in October. Creative Eye was to jointly produce the serial with Viacom 18.

On December 21, Creative Eye sent a termination notice saying MLP will get credit for creative direction only in the first five episodes, and for writing only in the first 12 episodes.
