Uddhav takes potshots at NDA on Sena’s 46th anniversary

“Our opponents are prepared for war while we are busy searching for a sword,” said Uddhav Thackeray, executive president, Shiv Sena.

He expressed his dissatisfaction at the lack of unity among opposition parties.

“The mood of the nation is against the Congress but the NDA is also not in good shape. I cannot understand what is happening as there is no unity among the opposition parties despite having sizeable numbers,” he added.

Thackeray also rued the lack of political leadership in the country.

He however added that the Sena-led alliance would win the 2014 assembly polls despite such problems.

Thackeray was addressing his party’s cadre on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the foundation day of the Shiv Sena.

Justifying the decision, Thackeray blamed the NDA for not finalising a presidential candidate. “Pranabda is a good candidate and our support is not for the Congress but for him,” said Uddhav.

On Monday, Mukherjee is said to have called Sena chief Bal Thackeray seeking his support for his candidature.
