Vora’s friend to surrender SIM cards, phones she gave him

On Thursday, Mcoca judge SM Modak extended Vora’s custody to December 5 after the prosecution contended that it was required to trace her missing mobile phones and to bring her face-to-face with some of the other 10 accused.

Murtaza Mustafa, a friend of Vora, approached the court on Friday claiming that she had handed over four SIM cards and some mobile phone handsets, and sought to surrender them.

Public prosecutor Dilip Shah, representing Mumbai police’s crime branch which is probing the case, confirmed that Mustafa had filed an application apprehending that the crime branch may implicate him in the Dey murder case.

According to Shah, Mustafa has also mentioned in his court application that Vora had played a role in the investigation of an offence registered at Goregaon police station at the behest of one Mansoor Lokhandwala.

Dey was shot dead by six motorcycle-borne shooters near his residence at Powai on June 11.
