Asha Bhosle’s son Hemant dead, loses battle with cancer

Legendary Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle’s son and composer Hemant Bhosle died on September 28, 2015 in Scotland. He had been battling cancer for many years.

Legendary Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle’s son and composer Hemant Bhosle died on September 28, 2015 in Scotland. He had been battling cancer for many years.

The 66-year-old music director is known for his Marathi compositions such as Shaarad Sundar and Yeu Kashi Priya, both of which were sung by his mother, reports Times of India.

This is the second loss for the singer, who lost her daughter Varsha in 2012. The singer-journalist was suffering from depression and committed suicide three years ago in Mumbai.

At the time of Hemant’s death, Asha Bhosle was in Singapore performing to a 5000-strong audience at the Star Performing Arts Centre on Friday. She was informed about the death after her performance finished, reports DNA.
