On Saturday, Delhi gathered to witness men-turned-boys go berserk on stage. With A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Nick Carter jumping around like they used to 17 years ago, the Backstreet Boys’ debut gig in the Capital was a musical riot. Youngsters thronged NSIC Grounds in Okhla to catch a glimpse of their favourite music stars at the Rock ‘N India concert co-organised by the Hindustan Times.

“I’m loving the whole scene out here. Watching Backstreet Boys and Richard Marx perform live reminds me of my school days,” said image consultant Manas Mrinal. Marx had women drooling over him. “He’s so hot. I couldn’t take my eyes off Richard when he hit the stage. His songs are perfect for romantics like me,” said Chehak Handa, a DU student.
Backstreet Boys impressed with their dancing skills, too. “I couldn’t stop whistling when they danced to The One,” said Mansi Mahajan, 27. South African rockstars Prime Circle, and Welsh drummer Jayce Lewis also blew many over. “I loved Prime Circle. They were great on stage,” said Surojit Dev, drummer of Delhi-based rock act, Them Clones. Fans of Indian collectives Swarathma and Indigo Children, the bands which opened the festival, also had a ball.
