Funny gangsta’ to perform in city

Popular stand-up comic Wayne Brady of the comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway, heads to India for a five-city tour

If you grew up in the late ‘90s watching afternoon television routines, chances are that you have caught a glimpse of the comedy show, Whose Line Is It Anyway. And one particular name still stands out.

Introduced often by host and Hollywood funnyman Drew Carrey as the ‘funny gangsta’, Wayne Brady is now taking stage solo as he performs in front of a live audience in Mumbai on Sunday at the Black Dog Comedy Evening with Wayne Brady.

The Emmy Award-winning comedian is excited about his India visit. “This is my first visit and I intend to make the most of it. My friends from the show, Brad (Sherwood) and Colin (Mochrie), who came down last year, spoke highly of the country and the response they garnered. I hope I get the same India lovin’,” says Brady, who now hosts his own show called The Wayne Brady Show on CBS.

While Brady is not sure what his act will include, he is certain that it will be more impromptu than a regular routine. “I have been reading up a little on India and will try to break the ice gently. But I don’t intend to repeat myself. I’ll be cracking new jokes,” says Brady, who recently released his album, Radio Wayne and might be singing some songs from it too.
