Mariah Carey on the hunt for a New Year gig

Singer Mariah Carey reportedly wants to make big money this New Year’s eve and is seeking a huge lucrative deal to fulfill her wish, according to reports.

With less than a week to go, the newly svelte songstress’ team was shopping over the past few days for a gig paying up to $500,000 at any venue in the United States and beyond, the New York Post reported.

Buzz is that Carey’s team has also asked for a private jet to fly her and her entourage out of Aspen, where she is spending the holidays with her family.

“Mariah’s management was looking for a lucrative deal for her, but she’d sing only a few songs. But, there haven’t yet been any takers,” a source said.

Contrary to what the source has said, Mariah’s rep has denied these reports.

“She’s not doing any New Year events. She’ll be in Aspen with her family,” the rep said.
