Miley Cyrus, who has been often criticised for her twerking skills, has blamed gender discrimination for the controversy saying that Elvis Presley never received any criticism for his hip gyrations in the 1950s.

The Wrecking Ball singer said that Presley was a symbol of sex but no one would have ever called the late singer on it because he wasn't a girl, the Daily Express reported.
The 21-year-old songstress asserted that it was that double standard and according to her she was doing something for the double standard.
Cyrus, whose racy Bangerz tour caused an outcry earlier this year, added that Presley wasn't wearing the outfits she was wearing but he was doing the original twerking and no one wanted to admit that he was twerking but he was.
