Why was singing in Hindi tough for Aditi?

Singer Aditi Singh Sharma talks about her biggest struggle in Bollywood music industry.

She has been a part of Bollywood music for over six years, but Aditi Singh Sharma still finds it difficult to pronounce some typical Hindi verses. The singer holds her growing up years abroad responsible for this.

“I lived abroad for a large of part of my life. I was in Russia for five years, so the biggest challenge was and still is the language (Hindi). Although my parents kept me in loop with traditional music, growing up there and coming back to India, and singing was tough for me. For me to be a part of mainstream Bollywood singing and sing typical Hindi songs became a big challenge,” says Sharma, who started her musical journey in Bollywood with the film Dev D (2009).

However, the ever-evolving music industry gave her a lot of confidence to go ahead. “I used to sing in English and had a band in my school days. But our music industry in itself has changed. So, this helped me fit in,” says the singer, who has sung tracks such as Offo, Rubaru, Sooraj Dooba Hai and High Heels .
