PATNA: Eating out, prices of construction material and several essential commodities, including drugs and medical diagnostic kits, are set to become costlier as the Bihar assembly passed the Bihar Commercial Tax (amendment) bill, 2016, increasing value-added tax (VAT) on Tuesday. The new tax stipulates that 150 items under schedule 111 of the Bihar value added tax Act, 2005, will be increased from existing 5% to 6%.
