PUNE: Former union minister and NCP president Sharad Pawar will visit Kopardi on Sunday to meet the family of the minor girl, who was raped and murdered on July 13. Pawar’s visit comes in the wake of tension between the Maratha community and Dalits in Ahmednagar and parts of Marathwada The police stopped leaders, including union minister Ramdas Aathwale and Prakash Ambedkar, from visiting Kopardi, fearing strong reactions by the dominant Maratha community in the village. Ambedkar appealed to Pawar, asking him to control the situation.
