Manish Mishra, the investigating officer and circle officer (city) said that police prepared and submitted a chargesheet to the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) on Saturday.

“A chargesheet has been filed in the court of CJM against the three accused who are lodged at Dasna jail. It is filed against MP Narendra Kashyap, Devendari, his wife, and Sagar, his son. The investigation is continuing against the three other accused who are also their family members,” Mishra said.

It is up to the court to either to accept the chargesheet or return it with directions or pass necessary additional orders. If the court accepts the chargesheet, the accused will face trial according to the legal procedure.

“We have also mentioned the contents of the two forensic reports from FSL Agra and FSL Lucknow in the chargesheet. The two reports have remained inconclusive about the probable reasons and circumstances leading to Himanshi’s death,” Mishra said.

Himanshi was found dead with a bullet injury to head and was rushed to a private hospital on April 6 by her in-laws. However, there was a delay in informing the police, who reached the scene of crime nearly an hour after the incident.

Himanshi’s family had lodged an FIR against six persons, including MP Narendra Kashyap. Since then, her father Hiralal Kashyap, a former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) politician from Badaun district, had opposed bail pleas of MP Kashyap and also moved the Allahabad high court for fair trial.

Hiralal had also approached police several times and raised apprehensions about his safety and security while attending the court hearings.
