Greensboro, usa: Sergio Garcia pulled away Monday in the rain-delayed final round of the Wyndham Championship to capture his first PGA Tour title in four years.
Tim Clark completed a final-round 67 and finished second at 16 under.
Garcia hadn't won on Tour since the 2008 Players Championship. He also is seeking a spot on the European Ryder Cup team. The 10 automatic qualifiers will be set following the Johnny Walker Invitational with captain Jose Maria Olazabal making two captain's picks.
Garcia certainly made a case for inclusion with his play this week, following his second-round 63 — his lowest round on the tour in a decade — with a 66 that gave him a one-stroke lead entering the final round before rain stopped play.
Atwal slips
Arjun Atwal had another rough finish with a double bogey and a bogey in the last four holes as he carded a two-over 72 to end at tied 66th place in the Wyndham Championships, after being in top-10 at the end of the first day.
Atwal with cards 66, 69, 75 and 72 finished at two-over 282.
Meanwhile, the tournament spilled over onto today as heavy rain and waterlogged greens forced suspension yesterday.
Gangjee tied 58th
Overland park, usa: Rahil Gangjee shot his only over-par round of the week to end at tied 58th at the Midwest Classic on Webcom Tour, formerly called Nationwide golf.
Gangjee shot 72 after rounds of 68, 71 and 70. Rookie Shwan Stefani rode on a slice of luck to claim the title.
