The family of double world junior golf champion Shubham Jaglan is all set to celebrate his 11th birthday in a big way on August 16.
The young golf sensation has made a mark by winning his second successive title at the International Junior Golf Academy's World Stars of Junior Golf event in Las Vegas on Thursday.
Jaglan brought home a score of 106 in three rounds in the Boys’ 9-10 years category to win the title by five strokes, ahead of Americans Justin Dang and Sihan Sandhu and Thailand’s Pongsapak Laopakdee.
Last Sunday, Jaglan had bagged the Junior World Golf Championships title in California by one stroke.
Shubham’s mother Anju told HT on Friday: "Today, we celebrated Shubham’s success by distributing sweets among the villagers. The family is receiving non-stop phone calls and I feel proud of my son," she said.
Anju said her husband Jagpal quit his work as a milk vendor a few years ago to travel with Shubham. "I also travel in India with Shubham and ensure his diet always has fresh fruits and cow’s milk," she said.
Grandfather Ishwar Singh, a retired bank official, gave credit to mentor Kapoor Singh for introducing Shubham to golf.

{{/usCountry}}"When Kapoor opened a golf academy at Israna village in 2008, he noticed Shubham and decided to train him," said Ishwar.
"After the academy closed down, he practised in the fields and then switched to the lawns of the Haryana Police Academy at Madhuban in Karnal. Noticing his flair, (coach) Nonita Lall Qureshi groomed him for three years in Delhi," said the grandfather.
