PHOTOS: Paddle boarding enthusiasts dress in fancy costumes at Saint Petersburg festival

St Petersburg, Russia’s cultural capital, once again hosted the international Fontanka-SUP festival, which has been named after one of the city’s rivers: The Fontanka. SUP stands for Standup paddle boarding. Despite the waterways being quite cold, several hundred paddle boarding enthusiasts made their way to the festival, some even dressed up in fancy costumes, making one wonder how they were balancing themselves in such heavy outfits with such little support. Previously, participants have paddled a total of 8 km along both the Moika and Fontanka rivers, including the Kryukov and Griboyedov canals.
