A clash between teams which started in the bottom two, but turned out to be one of the games in the year, just like their reverse fixture a couple of weeks earlier. On a low-scoring Bunsen burner in Lucknow, KKR limped to 155, but nearly managed to defend it before a heroic moment forced a Super Over. There, KKR got the points, and leapfrogged their way over LSG and MI alike.(PTI)

A heroic return for Mohsin Khan. Figures of 5/23, snapping through the entire KKR batting order, and dominating the bowling scorecard for LSG. The first 5-fer of the IPL season, and another claim at an Indian cap from one of its finest young fast-bowling talents.(PTI)

Rinku Singh was the one saving grace for KKR. With wickets having collapsed, he played a patient first half of his innings. But it was his explosion at the death which made it all count. With a flurry of late sixes including four in the last over, Rinku reminded everyone why he is India's premier finisher of the generation, hammering 83*(51) to take the team to a competitive 155/7.(Hindustan Times)

In their response. it was slow going for LSG. They kept wickets in hand through the first half of the innings, but were close to run-a-ball. As soon as any batter looked to accelerate, they lost their wicket, often to the KKR spinners. Their middle order chipped in, but captain Rishabh Pant top-scored with 42, unfortunately unable to kick on and take control.(Hindustan Times)
