Photos: Maharashtra Covid-19 count almost 26,000; mortality rate 3.76%

The total number of Covid-19 cases in India’s worst-affected state Maharashtra touched nearly 26,000 on May 14 afternoon, with Mumbai accounting for 60.7% of the infections as the country’s largest slum Dharavi, which has become a hot spot for the disease in the city, crossed the 1,000-caseload mark. The state also recorded its highest number of deaths in a 24-hour period with 54 fatalities that took the toll to 975. According to covid19india.org, the number of cases in the state stand at almost 26,000 as of this afternoon.
