Dense fog reduces visibility in parts of northern India | Pics

A dense fog blanketed parts of northern India on Monday, drastically reducing visibility and hampering road and rail movement. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), satellite images show a thick layer of fog from Punjab to east Uttar Pradesh, and covering Haryana and Delhi. Weather reports indicate dense to very dense fog will be present over the plains of northwest India for the next five days. The national capital was blanketed in smog (thanks to continuing air pollution problems) and the AQI (air quality index) remained in the 'severe' category. Fog also reduced visibility in parts of Punjab and Haryana on Monday morning; Bathinda was the coldest place in Punjab with a minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius, according to the weather report.
