Army chief General Manoj Pande met Commander of Royal Cambodian Army Lt General Hun Manet in New Delhi on Friday in a bid to strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation between the two nations. The Defence ministry termed the Cambodian official’s visit a ‘milestone’ in the defence relations between India-Cambodia since this was the maiden trip by any Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army. A ceremonial reception and Guard of Honour was accorded to Manet who also holds the position of Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Royal Cambodian Armed Forces. The two officials signed the ‘Terms of Reference’ for staff talks between the two armies and General Pande also extended India’s support to the southeast Asian nation by offering customised training modules for its army.
