Buddha Purnima's full moon coincides with penumbral lunar eclipse on May 5. Penumbral lunar eclipse is one of the three types of lunar eclipse when only the more diffused outer shadow of the Earth – the penumbra – falls on the moon’s face. This eclipse is considered much more subtle, and much more difficult to observe than the other two types -- total or partial eclipse.(HT Photo)
