Photos: Daily life resumes as authorities ease Covid-19 restrictions in China
China’s capital Beijing dropped the mandatory requirement to produce negative Covid test reports to enter supermarkets and offices on December 6 following the historic protests against the restrictions, last month. "Beijing readies itself for life again" read a headline in the government-owned China Daily newspaper, adding that people were "gradually embracing" the slow return to normality. The move comes as top officials softened their tone on the severity of the virus, bringing China closer to other countries that had opted to live with the virus while dropping restrictions since more than a year. China reported 5,235 Covid related deaths as of December 5.
