Photos: Dense fog engulfs Northwest India; Delhi also struggles with poor AQI
Dense to very dense fog conditions were seen over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and some parts of Uttar Pradesh over the last two days. It resulted in very poor visibility triggering several accidents in Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi NCR area. Experts believe that due to the presence of moisture and light winds at lower tropospheric levels over the Indo-Gangetic plains, dense to very dense fog is likely in some pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh for the next two days as well. In Delhi, the air quality remained in the poor category and is expected to deteriorate further.
