In pics | ‘Wild’ winter storm wreaks havoc across US
Ahead of Christmas, the United States is grappling with what is being called as a “wild” winter storm which has brought along “blinding blizzards, freezing rain, flooding, and life-threatening cold,” throwing normal life completely out of gear. Many highways remain closed following deadly crashes that claimed six lives so far, officials said. The storm has prompted the cancellation of nearly 5,700 flights amid a busy festive season and left over one million people without power, the news agency AP reported. Stretching from parts of Canada to some areas along the border with Mexico, the storm is predicted to result in “dangerously cold wind chills across much of the central and eastern U.S. this holiday weekend”.
