Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators from Shirur Lok Sabha seat have opposed the Shiv Sena’s candidate Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, who will be locked in a battle against the Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) candidate and Marathi actor Amol Kolhe.

At least a dozen BJP corporators from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) held a meeting with party Member of legislative assembly (MLA) Mahesh Landge on March 22, and expressed their anguish against the Shiv Sena candidate who has been nominated from the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance.
Corporators said they are not ready to work for Adhalrao Patill as he has criticised the BJP leaders in PCMC on corruption allegations.
Mayor Rahul Jadhav said, “Yes, many corporators are not happy with the Sena candidate and are not ready to work for him. We have expressed this to MLA Landge. Adhalrao Patil has accused Landge of corruption in the past, then why will we stand with him? We have arranged for another meeting on Monday, where the final decision will be taken, after consulting the senior party leaders.”
Landge and his supporters have demanded a seat for the BJP candidate. Earlier in the Maval constituency, another group of BJP corporators led by MLA Laxman Jagtap have opposed the Shiv Sena’s candidate Shrirang Barne.
