‘DSK investors need to work together to recover dues,’ says RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar

Kumbhar, who in the past had exposed a land scam in Pune involving senior Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi’s son-in-law Girish Vyas, expressed satisfaction over the arrest of DSK and his wife.

Leading RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar, who played a critical role over the last many months in exposing a series of irregularities by the prominent real estate builder DS Kulkarni (DSK) and his associates, has urged investors to focus on recovering their dues.

“It is now for the investors to work towards getting their money. They should not panic or leave everything to the police,” he said, adding that a lot of follow up work would be needed with banks who loaned huge sums to the builder.

He appealed to everyone to work together in a public-police partnership to get their dues back. “I plan to bring everyone together and will explain step by step how to when people come to the RTI Katta (RTI public forum). The process does not end with DSK’s arrest,” he said.

With regards to the DSK case, Kumbhar had uploaded a series of documents exposing the irregularities and had reached out to many of the investors seeking a refund of their investments from DSK group of companies.

He appreciated the efforts put in by the special public prosecutor Pravin Chavan and public prosecutor Vira Shinde in presenting the case to the court which eventually led to the arrest of DSK and his wife.

According to Kumbhar, there were five investigating teams which were on the lookout for DSK and his wife Hemanti after they were untraceable on Friday morning. He said the couple was seen leaving for airport on Friday morning and were traced to a modest hotel in Delhi at 3:30 am by a police team.”
