The Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) court judge in Pune said that a two-member expert team has been formed to verify the details of the people affected in the DSK fraud case.
While addressing the aggrieved on Monday, MPID judge DG Murumkar said, “We have appointed two experts to verify the identities of the 32,000 investors that have been affected in the fraud case by y Deepak Sakharam Kulkarni (DSK) and his wife Hemanti Kulkarni.”
However, despite the presence of DSK representatives and investors the judge did not disclose the names of the committee who will be in charge of the verification.
Advocate Shrikant Shivade, representing DSK, suggested that the money seized by the police by freezing DSK accounts be used to address the immediate monetary needs of the victims.In May 2018, a notification had claimed the seizure of 276 bank accounts of DSK Development Limited and related companies. The police froze all the accounts along with a total of over Rs 12 crore that were in it.
Shivade said, “Kulkarni had managed to gather Rs 6 crore before his arrest. A total of Rs 18 crore (including Rs 12 crore from the frozen accounts) can be given to the investors who are in dire need of money. We have been trying to convey this to the police for the past few months.”

Advocate Chandrakant Bidkar, who is representing the investors was also present for the hearing.
