Chef Sunil Joshi, Baan Tao, Hyatt Pune throws light on the concept. “Asian cuisine highlights the need for a mixture of hot and cold ingredients to ensure a healthy immune system. Yin foods cool your body and bring about a moistening effect. Yang foods warm and dry your body. A specific diet catering to the needs of your body with the help of Yin-Yang foods will ensure a healthy lifestyle.”

Dobanjan Pork and Salmon Fried Rice

Coming to the menu at the restaurant, you are welcomed with Wasabi peas. For appetisers you have the green peas, spinach, truffle oil crystal dumpling. Chef Sunil said, “Truffle is a high source of protein and a food with high Yang properties, use of truffle in vegetarian diet provides many health benefits.”

Cendol Rice

Kaisho, smoked salmon salad with rocula is made in Miso paste with smoked salmon, rocket leaves, mixed seaweed and sesame. This special seaweed salad is an excellent balance of cold, hot properties of food, the use of lettuce imparts a healthy balance to the food.

For the main course Wok braised exotic vegetables which includes Kale, shitake, green beans, carrot, zucchini, cloud ear mushroom, pok choy and Chinese cabbage contains a balance of cold, cool, neutral, warm and hot food. Another dish is the shredded lamb in ginger soya sauce which is made in naturally brewed soya and Chinese cooking wine. Lamb provides a warming sensation in our body which accompanied with basil rice and sautéed water spinach balance it to the right amount of cooling necessary to carry out the metabolic activities with ease.

No meal is complete without dessert, so try the Cendol ice (crushed ice, fruit syrups, maraschino cherry, coconut ice-cream, carnation, coco milk syrup).
