This is the fifth action taken by ACB in recent weeks, with six staffers being trapped by the ACB. The senior most official involved in a corruption case is the chief accountant of the Pimpri Municipal corporation against whom the complaint was filed with the Prime Minister’s office directly.

According to primary information, given by the Anti-Corruption Prevention Division, Shinge was working in the municipal water supply department function as an account officer. The complainant is a 20-year-old municipal contractor whose papers for pipeline maintenance work of the water supply department were pending for payment. Shinge had allegedly asked for a bribe of 1,000 for releasing the bill.

The contractor, then, complained to the Anti-Corruption Prevention Division. According to the squad, Shinge was caught by the ACB at around 12.15 pm in the area of municipal building.
