A local court awarded 12-year jail to three people arrested for possessing poppy husk.
The accused have been identified as Mandeep Singh of Bhagomajra, Amritpal Singh and Ajay Kumar of Sunny Enclave, Kharar. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on the convicts. Police arrested them during checking at a naka on July 5, 2014.

Police stopped their truck coming from Kharar and recovered more than one-quintal poppy husk from their possession.
