26-year-old man killed, uncle injured after being hit by tractor

A 26-year-old man was killed while his uncle was injured after a speeding tractor hit them at Lodhian Kalan village on late Saturday night.

A 26-year-old man was killed while his uncle was injured after a speeding tractor hit them at Lodhian Kalan village on late Saturday night.

While Santokh Singh died on spot, his uncle Joginder Singh suffered severe injuries and was admitted to civil hospital.

The tractor's driver said Randhir Singh, a resident of Lodhian village, has been booked under sections 279 (rash driving), 304-A (causing death by negligence), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), following the complaint of Santokh's father Balbir Singh.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Surinder Singh of Haibowal police, said the nephew-uncle duo was walking down the road when the tractor hit them.

Police have initiated investigation into the matter and launched a manhunt to arrest Randhir Singh, he added.
