Failing to provide any relief to Chandan Arora, father of four-year-old Aarush, who was crushed to death by his school bus 36 days ago, the police apparently left him in the lurch for justice on Friday when he ran from pillar to post just to file a complaint against the management of Innocent Hearts School.
Arora, who had already filed a complaint against the school management with the police commissioner on August 5, was asked on Thursday to complain against the school in Model Town police station whose territorial limit the school falls in.
On Friday morning, when Arora reached Model Town police station, police officials asked him to go to police station-7 claiming that the school did not come in their jurisdiction.In the afternoon, Arora arrived at police station-7 with a copy of the complaint against the school with a hope that his complaint would be registered but to no avail.
After waiting for an hour at police station-7, station house officer Hardyal Singh met Arora but refused to admit the complaint as the accident had occurred in the jurisdiction of police station-2.The SHO told Arora that a complaint was already pending against the school with the assistant commissioner of police (central) and asked him to go back to enquire about the first complaint.
Arora again went back to the office of the assistant commissioner of police (central) and complained about the repeated false assurances by the police. He said it was really painful and sad that a father in search of justice was harassed by the police just for submitting a complaint.
He added that he had met two police commissioners, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh and Yurinder Singh Hayer, and several officers but every time, he got only false assurances.

Arora claimed the police had issued orders under Section 144 of the CrPC that school buses could not move on roads without a valid permit, the driver needed a valid licence and vehicles should not run overloaded, but the law was not being followed in this case.
When contacted, ACP (central) Dev Dutt Sharma said the school did not come in his jurisdiction and asked to contact ACP (north), a post that is vacant.
