ATM at Shimla GPO opened, post offices to go hi-tech soon

Inaugurating a newly installed ATM at the city's general post office on Wednesday, chief minister Virbhadra Singh said 22 ATMs would initially be set up at the GPOs in Kasumpati, Summer Hill, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Barsar, Mandi, Sundernagar, Kullu, Keylong, Dharamsala, Palampur, Kangra, Dehra, Solan, Nalagarh, Parwanoo, Nahan, Rampur, Reckong-Peo, Una and Chamba.

"All 2,316 post offices in the state including those in rural areas will be provided with bar code scanners and smart card and biometric readers soon," he added.
