The women -five students and two teachers-were sitting at the library discussing a college cultural function when their attackers barged into the premises and sprinkled the spray in the corridors of library. This lead to chaos and the victims rushed out of library. Meanwhile, miscreants disappeared from the spot.

The victims were identified as self-financing department head Promila Suhag, assistant professor Aarti and students Monika, Khusboo and Komal.

"After the attack, victims complained of uneasiness, allergy and suffocation," said College principal Budhdev. The victims are reportedly stable.

Police said that preliminary investigation indicates that it may have been a prank aimed at female students and staff members. They have sealed the college premises. The culprits had not been identified until Wednesday evening.
