The body of a newborn girl was recovered from a drain at village Shekupur Kalan under Sadar police station here.

According to available information, a resident of Shekupur Kalan village noticed a baby covered in a polythene bag in a drain on Wednesday morning and informed the police. After taking the baby out of the drain, the police rushed her to civil hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

The police have registered a case in this connection under section 318 of the IPC against “unidentified person”.
