In a statement issued here on Tuesday, former excise and taxation minister Choudhry said this period would be remembered for Khattar going back on the promises made to people.

She said the failure of the state government in making urea, power and water available to the farmers of the state for sowing season would cost the BJP dear in the times to come.

Accusing Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government of acting under pressure of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre to release more water for Delhi at the cost of the people of the state, she said it could have, as a quid pro quo, asked the Centre to press for early solution to the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue.

“There is nothing for the BJP government to gloat over during its first 100 days, except for seeking publicity at the cost of the tax payer’s money,” the CLP leader alleged.
