Punjab convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gurpreet Singh Waraich has said that the “stage-managed” agitations by the Congress against the SAD-BJP govt in the state establish the “political collusion”.

Waraich said Congress MLAs were allowed to sit on dharna outside chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s official residence even as there was a complete ban on assembly of people under Section 144 of the CrPC there. (HT File)

Waraich said Congress MLAs were allowed to sit on dharna outside chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s official residence even as there was a complete ban on assembly of people under Section 144 of the CrPC there.

“Arrangements for food and stay of the protesting Congress MLAs were made during the stage-managed protest. Anyone, including Amarinder and other senior leaders of the party, were free to join the sit-in as and when they pleased,” he said.

Waraich said even as there was a ban on unlawful assembly of more than four people in the area, Congress leaders had free access to the site. He said it was also laughable that the Congress ended its agitation immediately after a police officer posted in Ludhiana was transferred. “Was the real motive of Amarinder only to get the ADCP removed or fight against the drug menace in Punjab?” he questioned.
