Stressing that he would not indulge in the ‘ tu- tu, mein mein’ politics of his Congress rival Captain Amarinder Singh and focus on a positive agenda instead, BJP candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley, who now possesses a house in the city, took a jibe at his opponent, saying, “He (Amarinder) had advised me to buy a house on the Indian side of the border. Now that I have one, I advise Captain sahab not to buy a house on the other side of the border.”
Claiming that the BJP would contest the elections on the agenda of “positivity”, Jaitley said, “I had interaction with hundreds of youngsters. They are very clear in their approach, and the ‘ tu tu, mein mein’ politics started by Captain sahab’ does not attract them. We will stick to positive agenda and not stoop low”.
Jaitley, who bought a house in the posh Green Avenue area here, said, “The Captain is delaying things these days. When Swamy made a statement about his family members’ foreign bank accounts, Amarinder said that he would file a case against him. I think he is delaying things.”
He further said, “This fake bravado of Amarinder is not working. I had advised him to waive his legal rights and tell the government to investigate. He is not doing even that,” he added.
On being asked about his own manner of returning salvos to Amarinder, Jaitley said, “It is not the case. I have not diverted myself. Little left-handed ones are necessary in politics. Otherwise, you people will also get bored.”
