The case has been registered following the statement of Shatrughan of HD Colony of Jamalpur. Shatrughan is owner of labour quarters at Chaudhary Colony.

Shatrughan told the police that on Diwali night, the accused appeared there in different vehicles and opened attack on residents of Chaudhary Colony.

He alleged that he tried to intervene, but the accused did not pay heed to his pleas. To avoid being attacked, Sarwan Yadav (24) and Manoj (25) climbed up to the roof. However, the accused chased and pushed them, following which they came in contact with high-tension wires crossing over the roof and were electrocuted. Soon after, the accused fled the scene.

Inspector Gurtej Singh, station house officer (SHO), Focal Point police station, said the accused had opened attack over an old enmity.

Efforts were on to arrest the accused, he added.
