Ramesh was found dead on Friday and his house robbed. The miscreants fled with Rs 10,000 and 150 gm of gold jewellery.

According to doctors at the civil hospital, the man died due to a cardiac arrest and no strangulation marks were found on his throat. It was believed that the robbers had strangulated him to death with a muffler after tying his hands.

To confirm doubts, the civil hospital has sent viscera of the deceased to the medical laboratory at Kharar and Patiala for chemical examination.

According to post-mortem report, Ramesh has minor injuries on right leg, nose and left ear. It could be possible that robbers attacked Ramesh and thrashed and tied him. In the process, Ramesh could have suffered a cardiac arrest and died due to not getting medical aid in time.

Dr Pradeep Mohindra who conducted the post-mortem, said to confirm the doubts, they have sent the viscera of the deceased for chemical examination.

Inspector Vinod Kumar, SHO of the Division Number 4 police station, said, “The family rented the house to the suspects without verification. The family does not even know the names of the suspects. The police are trying to identify and arrest the suspects.”
