Govt schools await DGSE order, to start pre-boards from next week

Last year, to bring uniformity in the examination system for Classes 9 to 12, the DGSE office had sent question papers and date sheets for the government schools to conduct pre-board exams for Classes 9 and 12 in February. But several schools had already started the exams, so the DGSE office had sent the question papers for Classes 9 and 11.

But this year, no directions have been send to government schools till date on whether the DGSE office will sent question papers and date sheets for Classes 10 and 12 or the schools itself can conduct the exams.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Sanjeev Thapar, principal of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University, said, “We are starting the pre-board examination for Classes 10 and 12 from next week. But till now, we have received no direction from the DGSE office regarding the date sheets or question papers, so we have decided to conduct the exams on our own.”

Anoop Kumar Passi, principal of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Cemetery Road, said, “We are starting the pre-board exams from next week as students get to know where they stand and how can improve their scores in the final examination.”

DGSE, Punjab, Kumar Rahul was not available for comments.
