The government of Haryana has sanctioned an amount of Rs.7 crore for the fiscal to provide free bicycles to the Scheduled Caste (SC) students studying in government schools, an official said on Friday.

The students of Class 9 and Class 11 will be provided the bicycles free of cost.
Only those Scheduled Caste students would benefit under the scheme who commute to the next village to attend a high school or a senior secondary school, it was stated.
It was said that to avail the benefits under the scheme, a student should be a resident of the state.
