In an alleged case of honour killing, Sukhmander Singh (47) and Sukhjinder Kaur (35) were allegedly killed by the brother of the woman on Sunday afternoon with sharp-edged weapons.

Both the deceased were residents of Bishnandi village of Jaitu sub division.
According to sources, Sukhmander Singh and Sukhjinder Kaur, who were neighbours, were in a relationship for over a decade.
Sukhmander lived alone and worked in the postal department on a contractual basis while Sukhjinder was working as a nurse in Bathinda.
“Both the victims were killed at about 2 pm after Rajinder Singh alias Jeona found them in a compromising position. He first killed Singh and then nabbed Sukhjinder who had escaped,” said a source.
The accused allegedly attacked the victims with a sharp-edged weapon repeatedly and they died within minutes.
He then surrendered himself to the Jaitu police.
“Police have registered a case against Rajinder Singh, the brother of the woman, for the murders.
He has surrendered to the police,” said Sukhdev Singh Brar, deputy superintendent of police, Jaitu.
