Minister of state for external VK Singh on Monday said that that India's foreign policy has got a new strength under the NDA government, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"India's foreign policy has got new wings under the Modi regime and the government's effort is to bring all the neighbouring countries closer," said Gen Singh, the former army chief, on the sidelines of a seminar on 'Role of Youth in Nation Development' organsied by the Lovely Professional University.
"The government has even extended a hand of friendship towards our most crucial neighbours Pakistan and China and the results of these efforts are sure to bring fruits. Rest is up to these countries. During the past one decade, our foreign policy has got paralysed completely," said the minister.
Earlier while addressing the students, Gen Singh said that in order to bring a remarkable change in the society and to take India to greater heights, the youth of the country ought to play a big role for development of the country.
Sharing his military experiences with students, Gen Singh said: "Army operations are always successful as there is a unity of purpose in a particular manner. There are no language, religion, caste and creed constraints. So is the case in your university and I exhort you all to rise and shine by forgetting all differences. Your energy will lead you to those heights for which no one else can even dream about. You are the people who will decide the future of the country."
